An astronaut from one of Earth's earliest space missions crash-lands on an unknown planet, and the only way home is fuel, which means money, which means customers. So you open a diner in the middle of cosmic nothingness. The twist: the aliens carry the ingredients inside them. Yes, this is that kind of cooking game, though the darkness is played for laughs rather than gore.
Every dish and drink comes from its own little minigame built on reflexes, attention and a bit of luck, with a cheeky, retro web-game flavor. Around the kitchen there's plenty of side mischief: gambling with shady space-flies, reporting wanted criminals to space cops who take bribes, and dodging galactic pirates. The hand-drawn art is gorgeous, the soundtrack slaps, and the humor feels like a very dark Hitchhiker's Guide.
The early days were a bit bumpy, with three quick hotfixes for launch bugs, so that's worth knowing. Its moral greyness and gallows humor won't sit right with everyone, and the minigame-heavy cooking leans casual rather than deep. It's Windows-only, hasn't been rated for Deck, and is on a launch discount until November 9.
